For Therapists: EMDR Consultation

EMDRIA Approved Consultation with a CIT

Helping therapists do more for their clients.

What is EMDR Consultation with a Consultant in Training (CIT)?

Congratulations, therapist, on making it through EMDR basic training! The one of the next steps towards EMDRIA certification is 20 hours of Clinical Consultation. Clinical consultation is a space where we can explore, reflect, and consider treatment options for clients through the format of EMDR. It’s a place for us to nerd out and develop our skills. As a Consultant in Training, I can offer 15 hours of consultation towards your certification.

Why should I work with you?

I am a certified EMDR therapist who has been practicing EMDR since 2018. Within EMDR, I specialize in working with somatic presentations of trauma, anxiety, and OCD. This might look like dissociation, chronic pain, difficulty sleeping, panic attacks, eating problems, intrusive thoughts and rumination, bathroom accidents… any sign that our body is saying, “Hey! Something’s not right!” I’m particularly skilled at helping people who have never felt safe, figure out how to develop a safe connection with their body. With this speciality, and my training as a Marriage and Family Therapist behind me, it also makes sense that I do some of my best work with children and with people who experienced challenging childhoods.

I have additional training in the following modalities within EMDR and am happy to discuss them with you: Somatic-Focused EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed EMDR, FLASH Technique, Sandtray, Play & Art Therapy, and Systemic Approaches.

Visit my about me page to learn a bit more about me generally, including my history working with folks in the context of domestic violence and difficult immigration histories.

What does consultation look like?

Consultation is an hour of feedback, focusing on you, your clients, and your work. We will review presentation forms, treatment ideas, and audio, video, or near verbatum transcripts. I’ll support you in developing as an EMDR provider while you bring your clients closer to their treatment goals. We’ll make sure you are clear on the standard application of EMDR therapy and the AIP model, and then we’ll work together to get creative and modify the model to better support clients’ needs with empirically supported interventions. Before we get going, we’ll develop a learning contract and make sure we’re set up to meet your needs. Please note that EMDR consultation is not a substitute for clinical supervision, if you are a pre-licensed therapist.

Can I bring a friend?

I offer individual consultation and triadic consultation within a one hour format. Triadic supervision would consist of you + a colleague + me and we would split session time discussing cases for both of you. I ask you to reach out as a unit, if this is the option that works best for you.

I’m available for group consultation, with up to 8 therapists in one session. Each person participating in group/triadic is expected to bring content to consultation.

What are your rates?

I’m happy to offer discounted consultation session rates while I’m a Consultant-In-Training.

1 hour session (55 minutes) of Individual Consultation: $100

1 hour session (60 minutes) of Triadic Consultation: $50 per person

Group Consultation: we will determine a rate based on the $100/hour model, designed to accommodate 15 minutes of reflection time for each participant.

I’m available to work with therapists nationally, through telehealth and in-person at my Havertown, PA office.
